Another Night
I lay down again tonightWithout you in my armsYet not alone. you’re somehow thereIn the memories I still hold close
A fantasy, of sweetened colored pastVisions from the reality of youIf I could but wake, and find you hereBut alas, that time is gone
The scent of you, gentle touchBeaming flash of your smileThe whispered murmurs, [...]

Love
I love you. You are my best friend.
Today I would give myself to you.
I promise to encourage and inspire you, to laugh with you,
and to comfort you in times of sorrow and struggle.
I promise to love you in good times and in bad,
when life seems easy and when it seems hard,
when our love [...]

You heard them say it, over and over
The shouts filling the very air
Plan come together, unexpected aid
They took their full advantage
Wasting no time to cry or morn
They used the murderous massacre
To promote their great plan, to war again
That what we all should have known
“God’s Will,” “They will be Avenged”
The overnight battle cry
And we in our [...]

A Different Path
I used walk the common path
I followed whoever would lead
Where they were leading I had not a care
I simply followed and believed what they said
I travelled well within the lines
Obeyed all their regulations and rules
Wherever that path may have taken me tomorrow
Mind trapped, eyes closed, how I would ever have known
Then a glint [...]

Daylight fades, and the darkness of night draws nearer
The damp evening air touches the hearts of the people
The old one notices, remembering living the old ways
The old ways, living in peace with all around them
Living in peace with each other, the animals, and the Earth Mother
The old one living now in fear
Fear that his children [...]

And the rain falls
A cascade of broken glass falling from the heavens
The musical magical sounds of the droplets striking this reality
Sheets of running moisture flushing across the surface of my world
The night is lost to yesterday, yet the darkness remains across the morning
Time stands still as the confluence of nature manages dominion
In [...]

Our Love Still Grows
This day means a lot,
Much more than any another;
For I celebrate my love for you,
And cherish you in every way.
Through passing time, our love still grows;
It lasts through good times and bad.
Our future together still shines bright,
With only the best yet to come!
My heart and soul my friend and love…….
Easy

Friendship
Someone asked me today
what friendship means
What does friendship really mean
I see it as a beautiful
and lovingly made
patchwork quilt
A true work of art
that you keep working on,
adding to
year after year
A joyful piece
of combined history
that you can wrap around you
And when wrapped
in it’s penetrating warmth
Embraced
by its history and memories
Your very soul is warmed
Author: Steve ‘Easy’ Whitacre, Dec [...]

The Reason
In an almost unbearable burst of enlightened thought
A moment of crystal clarity, and unity of mind and soul
I find myself here, at this spot, at this time
And ask, what we all boon to ask
The question all must ask of themselves to become whole
Why
There must be a reason, a plan, some greater command
Some guiding force [...]

Yesterday and Tomorrow
I walk across these lands of the old ones
Those who have long since gone down their own path
Their journeys have taken them away from here, and home again
But as I walk I can still hear their laughter, feel their pain
I can hear their songs, the music fills my very [...]
