Hope
Stretching out before me….
Desert void, deathly silence
Empty miles of waste
Yet I am urged to change
Remake this Eden lost
A single match to light the darkness
From one only seed, garden to create
A forest of torches, built and planted
This vast desert, cultivated with green
With my words, I paint the dream
Allow the vision to fill your mind
Gentle guidance, lending wisdom
Hopes and prayers, for a better time
Myself, can’t see the future
My dreams but cloudy best
I wonder if these seeds I spread
Will ever grow to sprout
Hope is what I hold to
Must put my trust in you
A task not so hard, familiar ground
Because I have you as my friend…..
