Not Alone

Life, separate, alone
Not friend or lover, child or mother
Seeking for one to light our way
To find some guidance, fulfillment
Truth, meaning, the path, our path
To be at last freed of this our eternal loneliness

Blooming, birth of the self we never knew
Cries out of fear, whispers of wisdom from the old ones
Out of impatience comes the persistence of truth
Shadows of our memories, dim remembrance of what was
Creation of new pathways to the soul
Guiding light illume our steps

All to find, once more, at long last
Life, never alone, but part of the all…
