Winter

Days grown darker, nights now chill.
Wind blown scream high upon the hill
Wolf howls, as the moon raises once more
Dark dance renewed as winter once more calls

Swirling pixie snowflakes, flitting in the breeze
Falling gently, ever building, mounds up over me
Death stalks, touching all, threatening life with icy claw
While the hearth fire glows, all a sputter from the snow

Days grown darker, nights now chill
Wind blown scream high upon the hill
Wolf howls as the moon raises once more
Dark dance renewed as winter again calls

A magic world, glittering crystals, painted by the frost
Wind dying, silence builds, sweeps across the lost
Snow keeps falling, Death keeps stalking, movement never still
Yet Spirit breathes, life giving air, and all of what I need

Days grown darker, nights now chill.
Wind blown scream high upon the hill
Wolf howls as the moon raises once more
Dark dance renewed as winter again calls

And, as always, I go on….
