Lies and Truth

I see them scratching at the earth mother’s face
Tearing her to pieces in their greed
The pieces sold as if a prostitute
For benefit of only those who use
For those who abuse

That is the lie
Learn that each step taken on her back, but borrowed…..

I turn to watch the old ones
Spending hour upon hour in prayer
The young ones all out fighting
Over the few bones left by the dog
It seems they would rather fight for that bone
Than dare see the reality before them
Crying out in despair, anguish and pain
They’ve been robbed of lands never owned

Long lost, the spiritual way of life
The balance of all things that were good…..

And now all they believe in is the lie
Believing that only the things of this world have value
That more is better, and they must have the most
And he who dies with the most toys wins

The lie of drugs and drink
Crutches but to make the lie taste more appealing…..

Teardrops during ceremony
Lead by the blinded young
No old ones left, to show the way
For the lie has taken the wisdom
It made us believe, that we had power
That we can own power, like you own the air

Yet we try to control the powers of the world
Like hiding inside bubbles to control weather…..

We no longer understand, the power of the wind
Of rain, river, or thunder
All of creation, belonging to the mother
Acting within the laws fair and just
True laws, of the great mystery above…..

And the pain, it unites us
We all hurt amass
As we huddle together and complain
And perhaps try to remember, who we once were
With the help of the great mystery, may be again…..

I beg you remember, we all are related
Made of the leavings of stars
The Milky Way is our road home
Our road back to the truth
The place where the tears were created

To but see, another mother awaits us
As we cast free this shell…..
