Cherish

For my wife dearest, and I do oh so cherish her. Waste no possibility to focus love and respect toward those who may come into your life, and in my case my dearest wife, who without whom my life would be left lacking, a hollow shell of the joyful fulfilment that it is, and has been. Two as one, journey of soul, I love you with all of my being…

Our Life and Love

My life a lost nightmare when you first joined bringing light
Year after year of hard struggle, yet you stayed at my side
You blessed me with my son, even more joy to my life
And together working hard to build what we have
And then you brought me my daughter to love and to hold
And through more long years of struggle still we held firm
Then a crisis unimagined as I worked as a slave
But again you stood beside me, helped rebuild, carry on
Through all my years of teaching, you my standard for love shared
Again came more crisis, made me ready for my trip home
This time too much for us both, divorce raised it’s ugly head
But even then with shared sadness, not anger or hate
After long lonely years we both learn to love another
Both sharing of ourselves, rebuilding, love renewed
Then many years of happiness, loves building, joy returned
Tho even with our new loves, our love for each other still strong
I lost mine first, could no longer share of my pain, no fault to her
And tho I still love her, selfishly left for my solitude alone
Then true tragedy struck you and Ron, damn cancer took him home
I remember my tears flowing as I sat writing you my poem Grief
My heart truly breaking to think of you in such pain
And somehow back together, perhaps fate stepping in
I remember your words, “Steve, would you marry me again?”
And here we are, our second coming, building again, round two
Yet our shared love even stronger, more important, most true
And for whatever time I have left I will continue to hold
For I love you dear wife, with all my heart and soul…

For my most beautiful wife;

Think about how many times
I have fallen,
Spirits are challenging me
Larger voices callin’.

What grace in heaven brought you and I,
Cannot be forgotten or cast aside.
Two as one,
The truest bond of Unity,
For we are that bond of one.

I will love you until the last star grows cold…

So Alone

How startling to feel this much alone
In a house full of loved ones I find myself lost and unwanted
I try and try to make it better, but nothing seems to help
How can I make her understand how much I love her
To make her understand how much I need her love

We came back together a seemingly beautiful thing
Our lives once more filled with happiness and passion
Bright horizon before us, spending years building new memories
A renewed glimmer of hope for this old soul, future bright
Yet here we are once again, and I fear the depths I sink to

So many questions rolling through my head now, what’s best for her
With me gone again perhaps she could learn to love again as before
Should I remove myself once more from her life, allow her freedom
I have no answer, if we could but talk, if she would but share
But we share long silent days and longer silent nights
I made a promise not long ago and though I could have broken it today, It still stands…

What would you have me do?

Secret Wisdom, This was, is, will be…

Soft hushed whispers echo trough the darkened room
Words a secret, language known only when spoken in lovers embrace
A touch melding, joining two as one, impassioned bliss
Melodies of love, playing across heartstrings of our souls
Blaze of stars crying down with tears of joyous rapture

This was, is, will be…

To Carry On

This new day
I awoke and I knew
You were really gone
Drab new day, no new way,
Eyes blinded to see the dawn.
You gone your own way, I left to go mine
How do I now carry on?

The clear sky above, stars filling the night
Will I ever have cried enough?
How will the sun ever shine again?
This empty darkness hast come into my world
I need rejoice, what other choice?
I must carry on

Fables and visions of loves now long gone
Memories of us together, singing our songs of love
All bear witness to the quickness of the end
These petty differences that drove us apart
How did we allow so little to become so much
I now sing not but the blues, dues we paid lost to the past
Tell me how do I carry on

Where are you gone now my love?
Where gone our happiness, our tomorrows?
Do you too think of the bliss we could have had?
Do you too live now with the sorrow of what we lost?
Questions of a thousand dreams, plans of tomorrow
What do you now see?
Lover, can you not walk again with me?

Again on my own, empty heart yearning once more
I would chase you down, yet what was it made you run?
I try my best just to get around, move on with my life
Still the questions of a thousand dreams
What do you now see?
Lover, can you not walk again with me?
Can you not walk again with me?…

And what’s this, we are together again.

Once more sharing a common path

Once more filled with the love of soul

Once more looking a a future bright with promise

Once more we will carry on…

Can I Not Dare

How can I forgive
Do I dare to risk so much again
How can I once more give so much
How can I live with loosing it again

Forget the tears you cried
Make yourself love again
Allow yourself to love again
Know that you are worth it
And know it will come anew

Know with care your poor old heart
Will bloom, break free, and trust again
You must learn to not fear the pain
Must learn never to allow fear to rule your soul
Reach out, take hold, and together again we are

Once more as we were meant to be…

Tell Me of Love

The way you are, a vision divine
Any man would die to simply see your face
What are you doing with a fool like me
What did I do for you to share your life with me?

So this night I ask for answer to my plea
How did I ever win your love, warm your heart?
What did I do, what did I say, what did you see?
What made you turn your love my way?

Well, I’m the guy bound never to advance,
No fancy car, big house with picket fence
The plain simple life is all I can offer you,
What a miserable waste for such a vision of the stars

My overwhelming fear is that when I awake,
I find it all but a dream, happiness imagined
Because my love, you’re by far the best thing,
That could ever have happened in my life

So one more thing that I just have to know,
For I fear this love does scare me so,
What is it that you saw in me?
What do you feel when we embrace?

The way you are, a vision divine
Any man would die to simply see your face
What are you doing with a fool like me
What did I do for you to share your life with me?

But, for all my questions, I do know, this is love…
